East Henderson just out of Top 10

The East Henderson Eagles, who have run off eight straight victories since losing their opening game, are knocking on the door in the state 2-A top 10 poll. East would be ranked 11th if the poll went above 10, based on points.

The Eagles are 8-1, and the Henderson County champions after defeating West Friday night. Their only loss was at Waynesville Tuscola, a 3-A school which is now ranked sixth in the state.
East hosts Pisgah on Friday night before traveling to Brevard to close the regular season on Nov. 7.
Hendersonville was ranked before losing to East on Sept. 19, and would be 14th now based on votes. The Bearcats have a bye Friday and close their season hosting Polk County Nov. 7. A win would give Hendersonville the Western Highlands Conference regular season title. Polk hosts Owen on Friday.
