RE: LinkShooting rats? Were any democrats injured?

Are some people getting a bit PARANOID or what ?
A bus driver sees someone with a gun and holy smoke !!Look out folks, it's hunting season. You're liable to get shot taking a gun out to your car.
Heaven forbid. Makes me a bit jittery because I shoot rats out back too. Guess I'll have to be careful or they'll be calling in helicopter gunships on me.

Back in my day, the worst thing that would have happened is a discussion as to what type of rifle it was. Once it was identified, there would have been further discussion as to that particular rifle's merits or lack thereof.
We are losing our country's manhood.

I had a BB gun (still do) as far back as I can remember and so did my buddies. One thing it was used for was to shoot birds to feed to my snakes. I never heard a complaint about it. We all carried pocket knives at school and never heard of one being pulled in a fight.
We have become a nation of Candy ***es.

wncgeezer & aslocumb- Right you are. I think common sense has gone the way of too many of the old values.

"Officers converged on Balfour Education Center just before 9 a.m. after receiving a call that a girl was on campus with a rifle."
If this had been reported at my sons' school, I would've wanted the same response. Things have changed unfortunately. How many school shootings were there in your day?

No school shootings at all in my day. Very few liberals in the country in those days- the root cause of nearly all social and domestic ills of our nation.

I'm in agreement with ksb & geezer, though on totally different terms. First, it's better to be safe than sorry concerning the sight of a rifle near school property. Never can tell what kinda nutcase 'could be' contemplating another Columbine. Speaking of 'nutcases', we didn't have shootings because kids were taught respect, caring, and discipline AT HOME and AT SCHOOL. Can't teach 'em these in school anymore because liberal parents feel it's not right to discipline the way we were disciplined. "we don't 'beat' our children, we send them to 'time-out'" I hear this over & over. Time-out my a**! A good dose of hickory never killed or maimed anyone. Some parents need it too.

Go ahead and laugh. The schools have a duty to be safe rather than sorry. If there were a situation and someone would report it early, initiate a lockdown and have appropriate response by law enforcement, lives could be saved.
Our schools can't win no matter what they do. Better respect for our school personnel would go a long way.
