Cathy J. Ruff, 55

Cathy Jane Ruff, 55, of Mountain Home went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, Sept. 30, 2008, at Heritage Hills Nursing Home after losing her 20-year battle with diabetes.

A native and lifelong resident of Henderson County, she was the daughter of Lewis Ruff of Hendersonville and the late Betty M. Ruff. She was also preceded in death by her brother, John G. Ruff; her son, Michael A. Ruff, and her sister, Jenny L. Ruff.

She is survived by her loving family including her son, Joshua Aaron Ruff, of Hendersonville; her husband of 35 years, Earl Caddell of Hendersonville; her sisters, Carol Ruff, Rose Colecio and Penny Barnwell; her brother, Michael Ruff; her father, Lewis Ruff; her nieces, Gina Whitmire, Erica and Michelle Colecio and Amy Ruff; her nephews, David Patterson, Joey Colecio and Stephen Vaughn; and two great-nephews, Tristan and Dominic Whitmire.

She will be truly missed by those who loved her and all whose lives she touched.

A memorial service will be held at 6 p.m. Thursday in the Kirby Memorial Chapel of Shuler Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 222 S. Church St., No. 336M, Charlotte, N.C. 28202
