Richard McMahan, 54

Richard Ronald “Rick” McMahan, 54, of Asheville died Monday, July 21, 2008, at a local hospital.

A native of Buncombe County, he was the son of the late Jeter P. and Betty Cordell McMahan.

He was a member of Biltmore Baptist Church.

He is survived by two sons, Ryan McMahan of Bull Shoals, Ark., and Garrett McMahan of Asheville; one sister, Linda LaPak of Atlanta; two grandchildren, Zoe and Riley McMahan; a special aunt, Nancy Johnson; and Rick’s fiancée, Donna Rice.

A funeral will be at at 2 p.m. Friday at Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian on Long Shoals Road. Interment will follow at Green Hills Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
