Commissioners’ stand height of hypocrisy

To The Editor: The Thursday T-N article has Mark Williams saying water is valuable to Henderson County and the county must pay attention.

This is in response to Polk County’s potential plans to build a water treatment plant at Lake Adger. Williams said, “We want to be very careful to protect our resources.”

When was Williams paying attention when he voted to make our resources available to Bearwallow and Cobblestone?

Does the man have no conscience? What is it about providing water that causes Williams to have Alzheimer’s?

Where’s the support for the Comprehensive Plan and the Land Development Code that he voted for?

What’s his explanation for not protecting our resources? Could it be something to do with developers?

Unfortunately, we have more than two more years of Williams and Young, and Messer is up for re-election in November.

This triumvirate has been all too willing to give our resources away and then pay us lip service.

If you’re going to talk the talk, then you must walk the walk. Water is necessary to sustain life, not to further one’s political career.

Let us elect qualified candidates who represent the people of Henderson County and not the special interests.
