William Donald Hodges, 74, of Mills River died Saturday, July 19, 2008.

William Donald Hodges, 74, of Mills River died Saturday, July 19, 2008.
A native and lifelong resident of Henderson County, he was a son of the late Henry P. & Mary Ethel Deason Hodges. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Rose McBee. He was partner and general superintendent for a commercial construction company for 22 years, retiring in the early 1970s at which time he owned and operated Hodges Farm Equipment. He was a devoted member of Mt. Gilead Baptist Church.
Survivors include one son, William Trent Hodges and wife, Gwen, of Mills River; two grandchildren, Jordan and Sydney; two brothers, John Hodges and Robert Charles Hodges, both of Flat Rock; one sister, Jean Stone and husband, Norman, of Ringgold, Ga.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday at Shepherd Memorial Park with the Rev. Bobby Arrowood and the Rev. Thomas Glenn officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to Four Season Hospice and Palliative Care, 571 South Allen Road, Flat Rock, N.C. 28731.
