Neither president, bosses ‘own' anybody

To The Editor: While listening to our sitting president speaking about our economy on July 15, he referred to his economic advisors as "my economic advisors."

I got to thinking about working in an industrial plant for 37 years. Almost every boss I worked with alluded to those he had authority over as "his employees." Also, they would almost always say he or she "works for me."

All these statements on the part of the boss show ownership. We had to answer to our bosses, but we didn't belong to them, which shows ownership.

We have CEOs saying "this is my company," when in truth any company, large or small, belongs to many people. Stockholders and all employees actually own a company. The bosses just run a company. No one belongs (ownership) to anyone.

If this were true, then God would be a liar, for he states throughout his own words that he and he alone owns everything, including each of us as individuals. He gave us the power to be stewards.

Some readers may say I'm simply taking the ownership statement out of context. To them, I say read Webster's definition.
