Fresh off defending her 800-meter 1-A state title on Saturday in Greensboro, Hendersonville senior Tara Lindeman is heading to Columbia, S.C., in the fall to run for the South Carolina track and field team.
Lindeman broke a state record in Saturday's meet on her way to the 800-meter title, finishing in 2:15.56 after rallying past South Stanly's Jade Farlow at the line. She broke the old mark of 2:16.34, set by Polk County's Karen Godlock in 1993.
