Pardee Lifeline offers discount installations

Pardee Lifeline, a system that summons help immediately at the touch of a button, is offering half price installations during the month of May in honor of Older Americans Month. The theme for this year's Older American's Month is "Working Together for Strong, Healthy, and Supportive Communities," which draws attention to the opportunities to create better care and reinforce healthier societies for all ages.

Working together, communities can improve older adults' overall quality of life by helping them: Make behavioral changes in their lifestyles that can reduce risk of disease, disability and injury; obtain the tools they need to make informed decisions about, and gain better access to, existing health and long-term care options in their communities; and have more options to avoid placement in nursing homes and remain at home as long as possible.

Lifeline operators are available to answer questions or provide assistance 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Lifeline also retains pertinent health history and information on who to contact in case of an emergency, when an individual is unable to provide this information.

Subscription to this service is available for a monthly fee, based on the types of options selected.

Lifeline units are maintained by Pardee Hospital. For more information, call 692-9061.
